Explosive Welding of Aluminum, Titanium and Zirconium to Copper Sheet Metal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The main material properties affecting the explosive weldability of a certain metal combination are the yield strength, the ductility, the density and the sonic velocity of the two metals. Successful welding of the metal combination depends mainly on the

The influence of welding parameters on weld characteristics in electric arc stud welding [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2008
In this paper the influence of welding parameters on weld geometry during stud welding (Drawn Arc Welding process with ceramic ferule) on steel plate and pipe is analyzed as a variation of weld penetration. Also, the changes of weld characteristics are certified trough measurements of HV0, 2 across the weld joint, and analysis of hardened zone.

Effect of Welding Parameters on Weld Bead Shape for Welds Done Underwater [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Applications, 2014
The desire to model a control system so as to optimize the welding process parameters and the effect of the environment during underwater wet welding makes it necessary to study the effects of these parameters as it affects the weld bead geometry of welds achieved in underwater welding. The objective of this paper is to analyze how welding arc current,

Impact of Various Rotary Friction Welding Process Parameters on the Mechanical Properties of a Steel–Aluminum Joint

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rotary friction welding of steel E355 and the aluminum alloy EN AW‐6082 can lead to the formation of brittle intermetallic phases. The primary process parameters are varied in order to determine their influence on this intermetallic phase formation and the resulting mechanical properties.

Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Property Degradation of Sn0.5Ag0.7Cu5Bi Solder Joints with High Indium Alloying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study identifies 12 wt% indium (In) as the optimal composition for Sn0.5Ag0.7Cu5Bi solder joints, achieving 87% ductile fracture and 81% suppression of intermetallic compound (IMC) growth versus 4 wt% In. High‐In alloys (15–17 wt%) show abnormal IMC thickening due to thermal activation.

(Nb,Ti)(C,N)‐Precipitates in High‐Strength Low‐Alloyed Steels—Modeling, Characterization and Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Steel samples are investigated using complementary simulations and measurements. Transmission electron microscopy in bright‐field mode, combined with energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy maps for titanium and niobium, reveals distinct particle populations. Simulations reproduce these in size and composition.
