Welding simulation of circumferential weld joint using TIG welding process
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2022Abstract Circumferential weld joints are commonly used in marine engineering, nuclear power plant, aerospace industry. In this welding simulation of circumferential weld joint using Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) process was done. In TIG welding joint the high temperature is induced due to which there is high distortion and residual stress.

Innovative welding simulation methods
ATZproduktion worldwide, 2010Despite numerous advantages, welding simulations are seldom used to solve manufacturing problems in the automotive industry. For that reason, the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) of the Technical University of Munich is researching different simulation methods in order to overcome existing obstacles that prevent their use and

Multiphysics welding simulation model
International Journal of Material Forming, 2008The electron beam welding (EBW) process is extensively used for assembling titanium and other high strength components in the aircraft engine industry. For such applications, it is important to predict distortions and residual stresses after the welding process.

Numerical Simulation of MIG Weld Pool in Switchback Welding
Welding in the World, 2009The authors proposed a switchback welding method to make stable back beads in the first layer weld during one-side multi-layer welding. In the proposed welding method, a welding torch is moved backwards and forwards like a switchback. The torch motion is important in the control of the weld pool.
