(∊,k) EQUILIBRIA AND WELL-POSEDNESS
International Game Theory Review, 2006The aim of this paper is to discuss a new concept of well-posedness for non cooperative games. Starting from the definition of (∊,k) equilibrium as the point where every player either guarantees at least k or he (she) does not lose more than ∊, we introduce an original definition of well-posedness. We study characterizations of this well-posedness and

Well-posedness of Nonconvex Integral Functionals [PDF]
Multiple integrals of the calculus of variations with vector-valued unknown are considered. Strong Tikhonov well-posedness within \(W^{1,1}_0\) of the corresponding minimum problems is proved assuming strict convexity of the integrand at the gradient of the minimizer.

On well‐posedness and conditioning in optimization
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2004AbstractWe survey some results dealing with well‐posedness of scalar optimization problems, with applications to the optimal control of ordinary differential equations under plant perturbations. Then we deal with the definition of a condition number for optimization problems.

Well Posedness and Inf-Convolution
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2018We prove that the notion of Tykhonov well-posed problems is stable under the operation of inf-convolution. We deal with lower semicontinuous functions (not necessarily convex) defined on a metric magma. Several applications are given, in particular to the study of the map argmin.

Well Posedness and Optimization Problems
2007This contribution is in the field of Game Theory and Nash equilibria. The property of Tihkonov well posedness is analyzed in relation to other well posedeness properties which are ordinal, a very important property for games because it emphasizes the fact that players’ decisions are expressed by preferences and not by a special choice of utility ...

Well-posedness of hybrid systems
2004Well-posedness problems arise in hybrid systems theory as a consequence of the use of implicit descriptions and of solution concepts that are based on relaxations. Examples show that the well-posedness issue is considerably more complex in hybrid systems than in continuous systems, as a result of a number of factors including the possible presence of ...

Well-posedness of the cauchy problem for an inclusion
Differential Equations, 2004The author considers the Cauchy problem for the inclusion \[ u'(t)\in {\mathcal A}u(t), \,\,\, t\in [0,t), \,\, t\leq \infty, \quad u(0)=x, \] with a linear multi-valued operator \({\mathcal A}\) in a Banach space \(X.\) He obtains a criterion for well-posedness on the set \(D({\mathcal A}^{n+1})\) in terms of the degenerate semigroup with generator \({
