The Unified Logging Infrastructure for Data Analytics at Twitter

open access: yes, 2012
In recent years, there has been a substantial amount of work on large-scale data analytics using Hadoop-based platforms running on large clusters of commodity machines. A less-explored topic is how those data, dominated by application logs, are collected

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Enhanced anomaly detection in well log data through the application of ensemble GANs

open access: yesApplied Computing and Geosciences
Detecting subtle anomalies in well log data can significantly enhance subsurface characterization and inform reservoir decision-making. Well logs provide detailed records of rock and fluid properties. However, identifying anomalous patterns in these data

Geomechanical unit modeling using seismic and well log data in one of the southwestern Iranian oilfields

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
Geomechanical modeling plays a substantial role in the life cycle of a hydrocarbon reservoir and is a key factor in drilling operation optimization. Formations with low mechanical stability can cause wellbore instability or failure during drilling.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Modelling dependency in multivariate paired comparisons:a log-linear approach. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A log-linear representation of the Bradley-Terry model is presented for multivariate paired comparison data, where judges are asked to compare pairs of objects on more than one attribute.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Geomechanical properties evaluation of Mauddud formation based on experimental measurements and well log data

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
Mauddud formation is one of the most prominent formations in Northeastern Iraq due to its significant hydrocarbon reserves, making accurate geomechanical characterization essential for safe drilling operations and informed development planning. This

The Porosity Prediction of One of Iran South Oil Field Carbonate Reservoirs Using Support Vector Regression [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Oil & Gas Science and Technology, 2013
Porosity is considered as an important petrophysical parameter in characterizing reservoirs, calculating in-situ oil reserves, and production evaluation. Nowadays, using intelligent techniques has become a popular method for porosity estimation.

A large sample of calibration stars for Gaia: log g from Kepler and CoRoT

open access: yes, 2013
Asteroseismic data can be used to determine surface gravities with precisions of < 0.05 dex by using the global seismic quantities Deltanu and nu_max along with Teff and [Fe/H].
