Evolution of shear zones using numerical analysis at the May 12th Wenchuan Earthquake Site, China

open access: yes, 2012
Landslides and collapses occurred during the May 12th earthquake in Wenchuan County. Most of these landslides and collapses were caused by shear bands. Shear band triggers instability on mountain slopes, resulting in debris flow, landslides, or collapse.

The Precursor of Wenchuan and Lushun Earthquakes That Helps to Predict Earthquake

open access: yesAdvances in Geosciences, 2017

IMPACT OF EARTHQUAKE ON DEBRIS FLOWS — A CASE STUDY ON THE WENCHUAN EARTHQUAKE

open access: yes, 2011
This paper describes a study about the impact of earthquakes on debris flows with a focus on the Great Wenchuan Earthquake 2008 in China. The land form, precipitation, and source material are the three key factors for debris flow initiation in the ...

Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms of Chinese Rural Children and Adolescents Surviving the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake Assessed Using CRIES

open access: yes, 2014
Posttraumatic stress symptoms in Chinese rural children and adolescents were examined after the May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. Analysis showed that three factors were identified, namely, avoidance, intrusion, and arousal, resembling those in the studies ...
