Combining Radiation‐Treated Tumor Vaccines With Mn‐MOF Nanoadjuvants to Amplify Radiation Induced Anti‐Tumor Immune Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy‐treated tumor membranes are integrated with Mn‐MOF nanoadjuvants to generate Mn@RM, a lymph node‐draining nanovaccine that delivers radiotherapy‐remodeled antigenic components. Mn@RM enhances dendritic cell activation, amplifies T cell‐mediated antitumor immunity, and synergizes with radiotherapy and PD‐1 blockade for combination cancer ...

“We Confess that we are Atheists”

open access: yesNew Blackfriars, 2020
AbstractIn the immortal words of Herbert McCabe, ‘Whatever we are referring to when we use the word “God” it can no more be a god than it can be a model aeroplane or half-past eleven’ (God Still Matters). This striking idea – the “atheism” of true Christianity – has, in fact, a long pedigree.

MIS12 Is Required for Kinetochore‐Microtubule Attachment in Oocyte Meiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A model depicting the role of MIS12 in K‐MT attachment during oocyte meiosis. The presence of MIS12 stabilizes bipolar K‐MT attachments by maintaining the function of NDC80 and its interaction with TUBB. This, in turn, promotes KNL1 assembly and subsequent SAC protein recruitment to kinetochores.

The KIF6‐RBP Complex Orchestrates mRNA Transport Required for Sperm Flagellar Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two homozygous deleterious KIF6 variants are identified in unrelated men with impaired sperm motility. Mouse models and multi‐omics analyses reveal that KIF6 cooperates with the RNA‐binding proteins FMRP and FXR1 to deliver mRNAs essential for sperm flagellar assembly, linking disrupted mRNA transport to reduced abundance of key structural and ...

Multi‐regional Organoid Biobank Reveals FAK‐ACSL1‐Driven Doxorubicin‐Resistance and Predictive Biomarkers in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study established a high‐quality organoid biobank derived from 68 tumor sites across 50 Chinese patients, elucidated the drug sensitivity‐based molecular subtyping in breast cancer, and revealed a novel mechanism of drug resistance mediated by the FAK‐ACSL1 pathway.

“We” Are In This Together, But We Are Not One and the Same [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bioethical Inquiry, 2020
AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic is a man-made disaster, caused by undue interference in the ecological balance and the lives of multiple species. Paradoxically, the contagion has resulted in increased use of technology and digital mediation, as well as enhanced hopes for vaccines and biomedical solutions.
