Behavioral, Ecological, and Morphological Data Suggest a Close Relationship Between the Ant Colobopsis truncata and the Gall Wasp Aphelonyx cerricola

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Aphelonyx cerricola and the different stages that make this gall colonizable by ants. ABSTRACT Wasps of the family Cynipidae are known to induce galls of a species‐specific morphology, which during senescence provide a refuge for secondary insect fauna, especially ants.

Starving or Stuffing? Plasticity in Wild Boar Body Mass Variations During Summer in a Mediterranean Area

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Assessing drivers of population dynamics helps to mitigate human–wildlife conflicts. In Mediterranean areas, summer aridity reduces resources, potentially affecting ungulates' body condition and reproduction. In a mixed forested‐rural area, wild boar female body mass increased throughout summer in rainy‐mild years and decreased in hot‐dry years.

BSG‐BATS: An open‐source data annotation portal and classifier for European bat vocalizations

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Bats are ecologically important mammals whose monitoring increasingly relies on acoustic data. However, many tools for bat call identification remain subscription‐based, closed‐source, region‐specific or limited in scalability, creating barriers to global data integration and method development.
