Circular Economy Pathways for Airport Climate Change Mitigation

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Airport operators face growing climate‐change pressures; the circular economy offers pathways to reduce impacts and recover resources. We examine how airport operators apply the circular economy in practice. We use an exploratory qualitative multicase design based on practitioner‐generated documents (e.g., press releases and sustainability ...

Consumer Mobile Phone Recycling Behaviour: A Systematic Review and Future Research Agenda

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mobile phone recycling has received increasing attention from scholars and practitioners due to its environmental, social, and economic impacts. However, knowledge about consumer mobile phone (MP) recycling behaviour is fragmented, making it challenging to develop effective strategies to promote this behaviour. This study follows the Preferred

Assessing N2 fixation flux and its controlling factors in the (sub)tropical western North Pacific through high‐resolution observations

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters
The (sub)tropical western North Pacific is potentially an area of intense nitrogen (N2) fixation in the global ocean, despite limited understanding of the flux and controlling factors.

Impact of North Pacific Meridional Mode Diversity on Western North Pacific Tropical Cyclone Genesis

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Abstract This study investigates the diversity of the impact of the North Pacific Meridional Mode (NPMM) on western North Pacific (WNP) tropical cyclone (TC) genesis during June–November from 1961 to 2024. We consider preceding springtime NPMM events driven by tropical and extratropical forcings, and classify them as successive and ...

Comments on "The Role of the Central Asian Mountains on the Midwinter Suppression of North Pacific Storminess" - Reply [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We thank Chang and Lin for their thoughtful and constructive comments on our study (Park et al. 2010). In Park et al. (2010), we did not explicitly state that the topography-forced stationary waves are the direct cause for the reduced downstream ...

Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic Syndrome in People With HIV: An Emerging Frontier for Clinical Pharmacology

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
As antiretroviral therapy (ART) prolongs lifespans, people with HIV (PWH) face a new syndemic: Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic (CKM) syndrome. Yet CKM in PWH is poorly characterized. Inflammation, complex pharmacokinetic (PK) alterations, ART‐associated metabolic effects, and gut dysbiosis amplify risk. Managing CKM increases medication burden, thereby

Characteristics of Western North Pacific Model Tropical Cyclogenesis

open access: yes, 2002
"Tropical cyclogenesis" in a low-resolution Atmospheric General Circulation model is studied, focusing on the Western North Pacific region during the June-October typhoon season. Time-dependent composites of the cyclones are formed and analyzed, with a focus on the temporal evolution of quantities averaged in space around the storm centers. Day zero of

Defining Reconciliation Studies: Theoretical and Practical Dimensions

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reconciliation studies (RS) has become increasingly influential in understanding alternative views to ending conflict and dealing with the aftermath. As a discipline or field, however, it is not well defined. The actual usefulness of reconciliation (as a concept), or of RS (as a discipline), is debated, and due to its growing usage, it is ...

Emergent constraints on the future East Asian winter surface air temperature changes

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
In East Asia, the climate variability in boreal winter is dominated by the East Asian winter monsoon, one of the most energetic monsoon systems that can lead to disasters.

Serum Components of Small Cetaceans in North-Western Pacific Waters

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1986
The serum levels of 18 constituents of 153 small cetaceans of both sexes from North-Western Pacific waters were measured. No sex differences were observed in any biochemical parameters in mature animals, but the serum levels of alkaline phosphatase (Alp), P, Na, and Cl were found to be age-related.
