Heat and Cold Waves in Brazil: An ERA5‐Based Analysis of Trends and Seasonality (1980–2024)
This study uses ERA5 reanalysis data to assess changes in extreme heat and cold events across Brazil from 1980 to 2024. Results reveal a sharp increase in heatwave frequency and a general decline in coldwave occurrences, though regional variations are substantial.

Extratropical transition of Western North Pacific tropical cyclones
Extratropical transition (ET) of a tropical cyclone (TC) often results in a mid-latitude storm that threatens maritime and coastal interests. Cases of ET between 1 July through 31 October during 1994-1996 are reviewed using Navy Operational Global Atmospheric Prediction System (NOGAPS) analyses and hourly geostationary satellite imagery.

Patterns of Genetic and Morphological Variation in Deer Mice (Peromyscus Maniculatus) in the Warner Mountains [PDF]
A previously recognized north-south mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) break in populations of deer mice, Peromyscus maniculatus, was investigated in Western North America. A 383-bp fragment of the mtDNA control region was analyzed from 107 tissue samples in the

Conifers growing in high‐elevation alpine environments in the mountains of Southern California, USA, are highly responsive to atmospheric river (AR) events, which typically produce heavy precipitation over 1–3 days. However, it is the frequency of the AR events, not their magnitude nor annual precipitation totals, that most affects the radial growth of

Projected Annual and Monsoonal Precipitation Trends of CMIP6 Over Peninsular Malaysia
In this study, we examined historical and projected precipitation temporal trends across Peninsular Malaysia using ground‐based records and CMIP6 models from NEX‐GDDP. Analysing data from 518 reliable gauges over 1973–2022, it identified spatial and monsoonal variations.
