Arghaeogastropoda from Hardangerfjorden, Western Norway

Abstract Twentyone species of Archaeogastropoda are at present known from Hardangerfjorden. Of these seventeen species were recorded during the joint survey of “The natural history of the Hardangerfjord” carried out in the years 1955–64. All species are briefly reviewed.

On the calanoid gopepods of Raunefjorden, western Norway

Abstract Thirty-seven species of calanoid copepods were recorded in a series of plankton samples taken in Raunefjorden between February 1960 and May 1961. The monthly occurrence of each of these species is given, with an indication of their status — regular, seasonal, or rare — in the area.

Crisiidae (Polyzoa) from Western Norway

Abstract Polyzoa of the family Crisiidae recorded from western Norway are enumerated and discussed. Illustrated accounts are given for Bicrisia abyssicola Kluge, Crisia constans Kluge, and C. klugei sp. n. (= C. denticulata (Lamarck) var. borgi Kluge). Two problematical specimens are described but not named. A key to genera and species is provided.

Prosobranchia from Sognefjorden, western Norway

Abstract Eightysix prosobranch species have so far been recorded from Sognefjorden (about 61°05′ N, 4°30′–7°30′ E). There is a distinct decrease in number of species from the outer to the inner parts of the fjord, only 14 species being recorded from the inner fjord area. Atlantic euphausiids in the fjords of Western Norway

Abstract During an investigation of euphausiids in some fjords in western Norway in 1966–1967 Thysanopoda acutifrons and Nematoscelis megalops, commonly regarded as Atlantic species, have been found rather frequently in the deeper layers, possibly having established more or less permanent populations there.

Tanaidacea from Hardangerfjorden, Western Norway

Abstract Fourteen species of tanaidaceans are with certainty recorded from Hardangerfjorden. Anarthrura simplex, Leptagnathia breviremis, L. dentifera, L. gracilis, L. langiremis, L. manca, and Strongylura cylindrata are reported for the first time from the fjord.
