Water mass dynamics drive nitrogen fixation rates and diazotroph community composition in the coastal ocean

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Although significant N2 fixation rates (NFRs) have been observed throughout mid‐Atlantic coastal waters, studies have been limited in their temporal coverage, and the methods used to detect nitrogen fixers (diazotrophs) and their findings have varied.

Changes in the wind stress center with the sea surface temperature increase over the western Pacific warm pool

open access: yes, 2013
The strong east-west migration of the warm-pool in the equatorial western Pacific is closely linked to surface current variation driven by the ENSO-related surface winds. Anomalous easterly (westerly) trade winds force the thermocline depth.

Iran's Escherichia coli AMR Landscape (2010–2025): A One Health Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, October 2026.
This One Health systematic review and meta‐analysis of 368 studies (2010–2025) reveals that 47.2% of E. coli isolates in Iran are ESBL‐producers, with alarming resistance to penicillins, cephalosporins, and fluoroquinolones. Critically, resistance to last‐resort antibiotics—colistin and ertapenem—is significantly increasing over time.

Resilience‐as‐doing: A relational model for living practice

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 10, Page 3633-3647, October 2026.
Abstract Dominant frameworks treat resilience as a capacity to withstand disturbance and recover, something systems, communities or individuals either have or lack. This paper proposes a different understanding, grounded in relational onto‐epistemology and first‐person, practice‐based, autoethnographic inquiry situated within a household garden.

The Aurora Vent Field at the Transition From Magmatic Accretion to Tectonic Extension on Gakkel Ridge: Constraints From Microseismicity and Aeromagnetic Observations

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The Aurora hydrothermal vent field (AVF) is the first confirmed active vent system on the Arctic Ocean seafloor, located at the western end of the ultraslow spreading Gakkel Ridge. It marks a distinctive endmember among ridge‐axis hydrothermal systems, where volcanic construction and ultramafic influence co‐exist.

Tropical Sources Dominate the Ocean Carbonyl Sulfide Budget

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Carbonyl sulfide (OCS) regulates stratospheric aerosol–climate interactions and helps to track terrestrial photosynthesis. Using OCS to infer drivers of stratospheric aerosol loading or biospheric productivity requires understanding its largest and most uncertain natural source—ocean emissions. Top‐down ocean OCS budget estimates inferred from
