The paper describes the updated results in the study of the formation conditions of sodium water within SE Western Siberia. The authors identified a classification of the types of sodium water, location conditions and chemical composition.

[The spread of hantaviruses in western Siberia].
Studies made in west Siberia established the existence of at least 4 hantavirus types: Puumala, Tula, Topografov, and Dobrava/Belgrade. The authors detected Puumala virus genovariants in voles, Tula virus in sagebrush and narrow-skulled voles, and Topografov virus in Siberian lemmings. The etiological role of the hantavirus Dobrada/Belgrade was defined

ABSTRACT Until now, the genetic identity of common grass snakes (Natrix natrix) in Poland remained poorly understood. This study presents the first comprehensive phylogeographic analysis for Poland using mitochondrial DNA sequences (cyt b and ND4 + tRNAs) and 13 nuclear microsatellite loci.
