Wet Comminution in Stirred Media Mills

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2014
The importance of stirred media mills in various industries as well as in research is steadily increasing because the quality requirements of comminution products, e.g. the product fineness, rise continuously.

Abrasion-Induced Acceleration of Melt Crystallisation of Wet Comminuted Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT). [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers (Basel), 2022
Within this contribution, the effect of grinding media wear on the melt crystallisation of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is addressed. PBT was wet ground in a stirred media mill in ethanol using different grinding media beads (silica, chrome steel, cerium-stabilised and yttrium-stabilised zirconia) at comparable stress energies with the intention to

Guidelines to adjust particle size distributions by wet comminution of a bioactive glass determined by Taguchi and multivariate analysis

open access: yesCeramics International, 2019
Abstract A quaternary bioactive glass of high silica content was used as a model system for flexible design of powder characteristics obtained by ball milling. The dependence on milling time was used to demonstrate consistency with the expected correlation between comminution and cumulative kinetic energy of impacting balls.

Effect of Surface-treatment Additive on Particle Characteristics and Catalytic Activity of Molybdenum Sulfide Prepared by Wet Comminution.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Powder Technology, Japan, 2001
We investigated the effect of oleic acid as an additive on particle characteristics and catalytic activities of molybdenum sulfide prepared by a wet comminution in n-decane for 10 hours. A mediaagitating mill was used in the wet comminution. The amount of oleic acid added to molybdenum sulfide in n-decane varied from 0 to 1.6mmol/g.

Inorganic Nanoparticles Synthesis by an Aerosol-Assisted Wet Chemical Method

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
Many successful methods for nanoparticle synthesis are based on a comminution of the phases containing the precursors prior to the chemical reactions.

Multicomponent Comminution within a Stirred Media Mill and Its Application for Processing a Lithium-Ion Battery Slurry

open access: yesProcesses, 2022
This study presents an approach for targeted comminution of component mixtures within a wet-operated stirred media mill. In the first step, a general understanding of the interactions between individual components on the grinding result with mixtures ...
