Instabilities during wetting processes: Wetting by tensioactive liquids
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1988Stick-slip phenomena may be observed when a liquid containing surface-active molecules advances on a hydrophilic solid surface. They are due to the diffusion of these molecules in front of the liquid edge, locally increasing the contact angle. This paper presents an experimental study of the instabilities of the liquid front.

The dynamics of wetting processes
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1994Abstract The dynamic wetting and dewetting behaviour of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), studied by the Wilhelmy technique, is briefly reviewed. Slow relaxation effects were observed for PET surfaces. Equilibrium is achieved by an evaporative process in the case of advancing contact angles.

Corrosivity of Wet-Process Phosphoric Acid
CORROSION 1977, 1977Phosphoric acid is one of the most important products from the chemical industry. Two fundamentally differing routes are used for the production of phosphoric acid; the electric-furnace process and the wet process. The furnace grade acid has a high purity which makes it convenient as an intermediate in the further production of detergents, food ...

A new selective processing technique based on a confined dynamic liquid drop\meniscus is presented. This approach is represented by the localized wet treatment of silicon wafers using dynamic liquid drop that while is in contact with the wafer forms a dynamic liquid meniscus.

The wet precipitation process of hydroxyapatite
Materials Letters, 2003Stoichiometric hydroxyapatite (HA) powder was synthesized by wet method using orthophosphoric acid and calcium hydroxide, as raw materials. In this regard, the time-depending changes of the precipitated particles and effects of heating on them were investigated.

Wheat wet fractionation processes
Food / Nahrung, 1985AbstractIn this review the wet fractionation of wheat into major components has been described. At first early whole wheat processes ‐ the Halle fermentation and the Alsation method ‐ have been outlined. Then the following new processes have been discussed: Corn wet milling type process, Pillsbury hydro process, Far‐Mar‐Co‐process and Screening process.

Wet and Dry Process Application
Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, 1963Whether in the wet or dry process fields of cast iron enamelling there would seem to be need for improvement in the smoothness and soundness of castings. Efforts to this end could well make the use of recent enamel developments more profitable for the enameller, for what is the use of greater covering power, for example, in an enamel, if it is still ...

This chapter addresses the concept of linen being used for apparels and the ways to process it for the same. The background of the fiber and a brief discussion on its cultivation and harvesting are included. An insight into chemical constitution of the fiber shows some of the stubborn natural impurities present in it.
