Effect of In-Situ Curing on Compressive Strength of Reactive Powder Concrete

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
A development of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) currently is the use of quartz powder as a stabilizing agent with the content to cement ratio of 30% and steam curing method in an autoclave temperature of 250ºC which produced a high compressive strength ...

Nanometer Layer Coating to Lactose Particles for Optimization of Dexamethasone Pulmonary Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanometer layer coating (NLC) was investigated and its mechanism illustrated by advanced characterization techniques. The effects and application for the inhalation of dexamethasone (DEX) were demonstrated through in vitro and in vivo evaluation. This approach increased DEX bioavailability and enabled the dose to be reduced to 1/30 of the intravenous ...

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...

Pressurized Steam Torrefaction of Wet Agro-industrial Residues

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
This paper aims at demonstrating the viability of pressurized steam torrefaction (PST) as an effective pre- treatment of wet agro-industrial residues for a flexible generation of biochar, along with secondary liquid products as “green” feedstocks of ...

High Power Density, Low Temperature, Solid Oxide Fuel Cells at Elevated Oxygen Partial Pressure

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Elevated pO2${{p}_{{{{\mathrm{O}}}_2}}}$ improves oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) kinetics, thus reducing electrode area specific resistance (ASR). The effect of pO2${{p}_{{{{\mathrm{O}}}_2}}}$ in open circuit potential (OCP) and ASR is demonstrated on both Sr0.5Sm0.5CoO3‐δ‐Gd0.1Ce0.9O2‐δ (SSC‐GDC) composite cathodes and our recently developed nano‐PSC

Wet steam flowmeter correction factors

open access: yesFlow Measurement and Instrumentation, 1991
Abstract This technical note is concerned with the different ways of correcting the mass flow output from steam flowmeters to allow for the moisture content in the steam. Depending upon which method of correction is used, the difference in the indicated output is as much as 6% of reading at a dryness fraction of 90%.

Perimeter‐intensified inverse Zr‐Co oxygen carrier for biomass chemical‐looping gasification with high CO selectivity

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Chemical‐looping gasification (CLG) offers a promising route for renewable biomass valorization, yet conventional oxygen carrier regeneration with O₂/H₂O is energy‐intensive and often produces low‐quality syngas. Here, we develop an inverse ZrO2/Co3O4 oxygen carrier that enables selective biochar oxidation and efficient lattice‐oxygen transfer
