Meta-Analysis Comparing Wettability Parameters and the Effect of Wettability on Friction Coefficient in Lubrication

open access: yesLubricants, 2018
This work presents a meta-analysis that compares the suitability of various parameters used to characterize wettability in tribological systems. It also examines the relationship between wettability and the friction factor for multiple lubricant-surface ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of the rotational and translational diffusion of a Janus rod-shaped nanoparticle

open access: yes, 2017
The diffusion of a Janus rod-shaped nanoparticle in a dense Lennard-Jones fluid is studied using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The Janus particle is modeled as a rigid cylinder whose atoms on each half-side have different interaction energies with

Tribological Performance of 60NiTi Alloy Under Varying Contact Conditions and Elevated Temperatures in Linear Reciprocating Sliding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the tribological response of 60NiTi alloy under dry, water‐lubricated and high‐temperature conditions. The alloy exhibits decreasing wear volume and friction with increasing temperature due to the formation of protective oxide layers. The work clarifies dominant wear mechanisms and demonstrates the suitability of 60NiTi for high‐

A Quantitative Characterization Method for Pore-Scale Wettability of Shale Oil Rocks Based on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Technology

open access: yesYankuang ceshi
Rock wettability governs the occurrence state and flow behavior of crude oil within pores and is critical for enhancing oil recovery. However, shale oil rocks typically contain micro/nanoscale pore throats and are characterized by strong tightness and ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Effect of core wettability on seepage characteristics during CO2 saline aquifer sequestration process

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
To clarify the influence of core wettability on the seepage process during the CO2 saline aquifer storage, this paper studies the influence of wettability change in the saline aquifer on the seepage process based on the pore-level seepage model combined ...

Effects of Metamorphic Degree of Coal on Coal Dust Wettability and Dust-Suppression Efficiency via Spraying

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Currently, spraying is a main means for dust prevention and control in underground coal mines. The dust-suppression efficiency via spraying is highly correlated with the wettability of coal dusts.

Micelle fragmentation and wetting in confined flow

open access: yes, 2014
We use coarse-grained molecular-dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate the structural and dynamical properties of micelles under non-equilibrium Poiseuille flow in a nano-confined geometry.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...
