Wettability of Sanded and Aged Fast-growing Poplar Wood Surfaces: II. Dynamic Wetting Models
The dynamic wettability of adhesive on sanded and aged wood surfaces was measured using the sessile drop method. Four different models were used to evaluate and compare the wetting process.

The behaviour of two dimensional binary and ternary amphiphilic fluids under flow conditions is investigated using a hydrodynamic lattice gas model. After the validation of the model in simple cases (Poiseuille flow, Darcy's law for single component ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

The migration and accumulation of oil in tight sandstone reservoirs are mainly controlled by capillary force. Due to the small pore radius and complex pore structure of tight sandstone reservoirs, the capillary force is very sensitive to wettability, so ...

The enamelling of concrete for improved performance characteristics by means of high power diode laser interaction [PDF]
The contemporary 120 W high power diode laser (HPDL) has been successfully used for the first time to fire an enamel glaze onto the ordinary Portland cement (OPC) surface of concrete.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Wettability Increase by “Corona” Ionization [PDF]
Experiments showing an increase in the wettability of a hydrophobic surface when using corona air ionization are shown. Photoluminiscence observations support the predictions of charge accumulation at the triple line and confirm previous experiments. In all of the experiments, the contact angle was in the saturation regime at a value smaller than that ...

Nanodroplets Impacting on Graphene
The unique and remarkable properties of graphene can be exploited as the basis to a wide range of applications. However, in spite of years of investigations there are some important graphene properties that are not still fully understood, as for example,
