Uranium storage mechanisms in wet-dry redox cycled sediments
Biogeochemical redox processes that govern radionuclide mobility in sediments are highly sensitive to forcing by the water cycle. For example, episodic draining and intrusion of oxidants into reduced zones during dry seasons can create biogeochemical seasonal hotspots of enhanced and changed microbial activity, affect the redox status of minerals ...

Wet/dry cycle durability of polyphenylene ionomer membranes in PEFC
The mechanical durability of our hydrocarbon polymer electrolyte membrane, poly(sulfophenylene quinquephenylene) (SPP-QP) or polyphenylene ionomer, was evaluated in wet/dry cycle tests in fuel cells according to the US-DOE protocol, where the effect of gas diffusion layers (hard or soft GDL) was investigated.

Reliability Study on FRP Composites Exposed to Wet-Dry Cycles [PDF]
Due to lack of research data on the rates of deterioration of FRP properties under a harsh environment exposure, it was pointed out in the design guidelines that the durability of FRP needs to be further developed. Therefore, in this study, 48 FRP samples were tested under wet-dry cycles exposure.
