Structure Repair of a Compacted Vertisol with Wet‐Dry Cycles and Crops
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1999Abstract We hypothesized that the four rotation crops: wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.), sorghum [ Sorghum bicolor (L.) Merr.], lablab [ Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet] and mung bean [

Water State of Soil Experienced Wetting–Drying Cycles
Indian Geotechnical Journal, 2020Owing to rainfall and evaporation in nature’s water succession, clay soil inevitably experiences wetting–drying cycles. In the present study, experiments are carried out to investigate variations in the water state (i.e., adsorbed and bulk) during the wetting process and again after experiencing 0–4 wetting–drying cycles.

Modelling of Wetting and Drying Cycles in Building Structures
2014Many buildings are frequently subjected to deterioration caused by dampness, whose effects can be amplified by structure material properties, and microclimatic conditions. This contribution proposes a quantitative model to perform a physical analysis of rising damp.

Interior Humidity of Concrete under Dry-Wet Cycles
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2012The dry-wet cycle is one of the aggressive environmental conditions suffered by concrete. This paper focuses on the experimental study and theoretical simulation of water distribution in normal- and high-strength concrete through dry-wet cycles. The experimental results show that under dry-wet cycles, the variation in the interior humidity of concrete ...

Denitrification Hysteresis During Wetting and Drying Cycles in Soil
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1988Abstract Denitrification response to soil moisture was studied in soils undergoing either wetting or drying cycles to determine if denitrification‐soil water relationships were independent of antecedent moisture conditions. Intact, field moist soil cores were brought into the laboratory and subjected to either wetting or drying phase ...
