In this study, low‐fat, carbohydrate‐free mayonnaise samples based on flaxseed oil–wax oleogels were successfully developed and analyzed. ABSTRACT This study aimed to prepare and characterize low‐fat mayonnaises containing 50% of total weight as fat by incorporating oleogels based on sunflower wax–flaxseed oil (SWO‐M) and whale wax–flaxseed oil (WWO‐M).

Predicting ecology and hearing sensitivities in Parapontoporia—An extinct long‐snouted dolphin
Abstract Analyses of the cetacean (whale and dolphin) inner ear provide glimpses into the ecology and evolution of extinct and extant groups. The paleoecology of the long‐snouted odontocete (toothed whale) group, Parapontoporia, is primarily marine with its depositional context also suggesting freshwater tolerance.

Hydration affects the physical and mechanical properties of baleen tissue [PDF]
Baleen, an anisotropic oral filtering tissue found only in the mouth of mysticete whales and made solely of alpha-keratin, exhibits markedly differing physical and mechanical properties between dried or (as in life) hydrated states.

A whale optimization algorithm (WOA) approach for clustering
Clustering is a powerful technique in data-mining, which involves identifing homogeneous groups of objects based on the values of attributes. Meta-heuristic algorithms such as particle swarm optimization, artificial bee colony, genetic algorithm and ...

We utilise a metaheuristic optimisation method, inspired by nature, called the Lévy‐flight firefly algorithm (LFA), to tackle the power regulation and user grouping in the NOMA systems. Abstract The non‐orthogonal multiple access strategies have shown promise to boost fifth generation and sixth generation wireless networks' spectral efficiency and ...
