The de Broglie Wave as Evidence of a Deeper Wave Structure [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
It is argued that the de Broglie wave is not the wave usually supposed, but the relativistically induced modulation of an underlying carrier wave that moves with the velocity of the particle. In the rest frame of the particle this underlying structure has the form of a standing wave.

Vector rogue waves on a double-plane wave background [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We study rogue wave excitation dynamics on a double-plane wave background through deriving rogue wave solution on the background. The results indicate that rogue wave still can be excited successfully from resonant perturbations with the two plane wave backgrounds.

Light extraction enhancement of BGO scintillator by monolayers of SiO2 periodic array

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Utilizing the self-assembly method, we have successfully prepared a two-dimensional photonic crystal (PhC) of monolayer SiO2 spheres onto the Bismuth Germinate (Bi4Ge3O12, BGO) crystal and therefore supply another photonic crystal structure with the ...

The Study on Lasing Threshold Properties of Rhodamine B in Glycerol Aqueous Solution

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
An optical fiber is integrated in a polydimethylsiloxane substrate microfluidic channel. The laser gain medium consists of glycerol aqueous solution doped with rhodamine B (RhB) molecules, which has a lower refractive index (RI) than that of the optical ...

An Electrostatic Wave [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
In general, Maxwell's equations require that a wave of electric field be accompanied by a wave of magnetic field, and vice versa. However, it is possible to have a plane wave in a dielectric medium with electric field E parallel to the wave vector k (a longitudinal wave) with no time-dependent magnetic field provided the electric displacement D is zero.

A review of 2D and 3D plasmonic nanostructure array patterns: fabrication, light management and sensing applications

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
This review article discusses progress in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) chip-based nanostructure array patterns.

Trapping Rossby waves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
Waves associated to large scale oceanic motions are gravity waves (Poincar\'e waves which disperse fast) and quasigeostrophic waves (Rossby waves). In this Note, we show by semiclassical arguments, that Rossby waves can be trapped and we characterize the corresponding initial conditions.

Transport and generation of macroscopically modulated waves in diatomic chains [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We derive and justify analytically the dynamics of a small macroscopically modulated amplitude of a single plane wave in a nonlinear diatomic chain with stabilizing on-site potentials including the case where a wave generates another wave via self-interaction.
