Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Recent progress in the device architecture of white quantum-dot light-emitting diodes

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2019
White-light-emission quantum dot light-emitting diodes (WQLEDs) have attracted great attention of late because they could have potential applications in both flat-panel displays and solid-state lighting due to their advantages of tunable emission spectra,

A new super-soft X-ray source in the Small Magellanic Cloud: Discovery of the first Be/white dwarf system in the SMC?

open access: yes, 2011
The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) hosts a large number of Be/X-ray binaries, however no Be/white dwarf system is known so far, although population synthesis calculations predict that they might be more frequent than Be/neutron star systems.

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Precision optical model of asymmetry emission band of red light emitting diodes and its application in improving the color rendering index of white LEDs

open access: yesResults in Optics
We have proposed and demonstrated a precision optical model for red light-emitting diodes and applied this model to improve the color rendering index of phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes.

White-light emission from GaAs m.o.s. structures

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1978
Emission of light from GaAs m.o.s. structures with anodic native oxides is reported. The spectrum is continuous, covers the visible range and has substantial parts that have higher photon energies than the GaAs energy gap. A part of the emission therefore seems to originate from the amorphous native GaAs oxide with its wide energy gap of about 4.5 eV ...

Gram‐Scale Synthesis of 41% Efficient Single‐Component White‐Light‐Emissive Carbonized Polymer Dots with Hybrid Fluorescence/Phosphorescence for White Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2020
Fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) are compelling optical emitters to construct white light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs). However, it remains a challenge to achieve large‐scale and highly efficient single‐component white‐light‐emissive CDs suitable for WLED ...
