Combining strategies for white balance
SPIE Proceedings, 2007In this work we consider six methods for automatic white balance available in the literature. The idea investigated does not rely on a single method, but instead considers a consensus decision that takes into account the compendium of the responses of all the considered algorithms.

The racial ideology of colorblindness has a long history. In 1963, Martin Luther King famously stated, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." However, in the decades after the civil rights movement, the ideology of ...

White balance by tunable spectral responsivities
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2009The development of color pixels in modern digital imaging has led to devices in which color detection is not based on the use of physical color filters but relies on the wavelength dependence of the silicon absorption coefficient in the visible range. In some of these devices the responsivity of each color channel can be electrically tuned by changing ...

Automatic white balancing has the aim of ensuring color consistency of the captured image over a wide range of light sources with different color temperatures. Almost all available automatic white balance techniques contain two main processing steps.

Chromatic adaptation and white-balance problem
IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 2005, 2005The problem of adjusting the color such that the output image from a digital camera, viewed under a standard condition, matches the scene observed by the photographer's eye is called white-balance. While most white-balance algorithms approach the problem using the coefficient law (von Kries), the coefficient law has been shown inaccurate. In this paper,

An Automatic White Balance Algorithm via White Eyes
2020Aiming to tackle the shortage of traditional white balance algorithms on face image, an eye white based algorithm is proposed under the assumption of stability of eye white in YCrCb color space. It first compares the eye white parts of input image with standard ones under normal white light source, to produce a gain coefficient, then corrects the color

Preparation of balanced trichromatic white phosphors for solid‐state white lighting
Luminescence, 2016AbstractHigh quality white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) employ multi‐component phosphor mixtures to generate light of a high color rendering index (CRI). The number of distinct components in a typical phosphor mix usually ranges from two to four.
