Combining strategies for white balance

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
In this work we consider six methods for automatic white balance available in the literature. The idea investigated does not rely on a single method, but instead considers a consensus decision that takes into account the compendium of the responses of all the considered algorithms.

White Balance

2020
The racial ideology of colorblindness has a long history. In 1963, Martin Luther King famously stated, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." However, in the decades after the civil rights movement, the ideology of ...

Refined Automatic White Balancing

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2007
An efficient automatic white balancing solution for captured image correction is introduced. Colour information of the digital camera image is adjusted using both the local and global spectral characteristics of the captured visual data. Experimentation indicates that the proposed solution produces visually-pleasing colour images.

Automatic White Balancing Using Standard Deviation of RGB Components

open access: yes, 2004
A good automatic white balancing algorithm is an essential image pre-processing component in consumer digital still cameras, and it can greatly improve the final image quality.

White balance by tunable spectral responsivities

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2009
The development of color pixels in modern digital imaging has led to devices in which color detection is not based on the use of physical color filters but relies on the wavelength dependence of the silicon absorption coefficient in the visible range. In some of these devices the responsivity of each color channel can be electrically tuned by changing ...

Multiframe Auto White Balance

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2011
Automatic white balancing has the aim of ensuring color consistency of the captured image over a wide range of light sources with different color temperatures. Almost all available automatic white balance techniques contain two main processing steps.

Chromatic adaptation and white-balance problem

IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 2005, 2005
The problem of adjusting the color such that the output image from a digital camera, viewed under a standard condition, matches the scene observed by the photographer's eye is called white-balance. While most white-balance algorithms approach the problem using the coefficient law (von Kries), the coefficient law has been shown inaccurate. In this paper,
