Non-rotating and slowly rotating white dwarfs in classical physics

open access: yesPhysical Sciences and Technology, 2016
The equilibrium configurations of uniformly rotating white dwarfs are calculated in the framework of classical physics. The Chandrasekhar and the Salpeter equations of state are used to describe the white dwarf matter.

Constraining Effective Temperature, Mass and Radius of Hot White Dwarfs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
By introducing a simplified transport model of outer layers of white dwarfs we derive an analytical semi-empirical relation which constrains effective temperature-mass-radius for white dwarfs. This relation is used to classify recent data of white dwarfs according to their time evolution in non-accretion process of cooling.

Green Synthesis of Nano‐Sized Metal Oxides (Ag2O, CuO, ZnO, MgO, CaO, and TiO2) Using Plant Extract for a Sustainable Environment

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
Synthesis of metal oxide from different types of green plants for a sustainable environment. ABSTRACT The demand for green synthesis of metal oxide nanomaterials is increasing tremendously to achieve sustainable development goals and for a clean environment.

Rotation plays a role in the generation of magnetic fields in single white dwarfs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Recent surveys of close white dwarf binaries as well as single white dwarfs have provided evidence for the late appearance of magnetic fields in white dwarfs, and a possible generation mechanism a crystallization and rotation-driven dynamo has been suggested.

Effects of boreal ground layer shrubs and bryophytes on the diversity, biomass and composition of lichen communities across contrasting ecosystems

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
There has been much recent interest in understanding how abiotic factors such as light, nutrients, and soil moisture affect the composition and biomass of lichen communities. Meanwhile, whether and how ground layer vegetation such as bryophytes and shrubs also influence lichen communities have received much less attention, particularly regarding how ...

GD1212: Probing deep into the interior of a pulsating white dwarf star

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
We present the first self-consistent seismic analysis of a white dwarf star, GD 1212, in the Kepler2 field. We precisely establish the fundamental parameters of the star using the forward method based on physically sound models.
