Environmental and local habitat variables as predictors of trophic interactions in subtidal rocky reefs along the SE Pacific coast

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Temperature generally drives latitudinal patterns in the strength of trophic interactions, including consumption rates. However, local community and other environmental conditions might also affect consumption, disrupting latitudinal gradients, which results in complex large‐scale patterns.

MACHOs, White Dwarfs, and the Age of the Universe

open access: yes, 1997
(Abridged Abstract) A favored interpretation of recent microlensing measurements towards the Large Magellanic Cloud implies that a large fraction (i.e. 10--50%) of the mass of the galactic halo is composed of white dwarfs.

Matching your way to Success: The Influence of Motivational Frame Matching on Interaction Outcomes and Reciprocal Matching

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Theories of interpersonal sensemaking postulate that positive interactions emerge in interactions where speakers match on motivational frames. Across three experiments (N = 1609) using a hypothetical simulation framework, we provide the first evidence of a causal link between motivational frame matching and positive interaction outcomes in ...

Non-rotating and slowly rotating white dwarfs in classical physics

open access: yesPhysical Sciences and Technology, 2016
The equilibrium configurations of uniformly rotating white dwarfs are calculated in the framework of classical physics. The Chandrasekhar and the Salpeter equations of state are used to describe the white dwarf matter.

Detection of Young Massive White Dwarfs in Core-collapsed Globular Cluster NGC 362

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Core-collapsed globular clusters are ideal targets to explore the presence of stellar collision products. Here, we have studied 17 far-UV bright white dwarf (WD) members in the globular cluster NGC 362 using data obtained from the Ultra Violet Imaging ...

ELOVL5 and VLDLR synergistically affect n-3 PUFA deposition in eggs of different chicken breeds

open access: yesPoultry Science
: There was no significant difference in the composition and content of fatty acids in eggs among different breeds initially, but following the supplementation of flaxseed oil, Dwarf Layer were observed to deposit more n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid ...

Illness Perceptions in Psychiatric Disorders: Assessing Differences and Associations With Symptom Severity

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study investigated the influence of illness perceptions (IPs) on clinical severity across Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), and Panic Disorder (PD), and compared the IPs across these conditions.
