Brain bases of English morphological processing: A comparison between Chinese‐English, Spanish‐English bilingual, and English monolingual children

open access: yesDevelopmental Science, Volume 26, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023

Fertilizer‐induced soil carbon rapidly disappears after clearcutting in boreal production forests

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, EarlyView.
Overall, the carry‐over effects on biodiversity from forest fertilization into stands regenerating after clearcutting were limited. We conclude that soil organic carbon stores induced by fertilization are short‐lived and do not persist after clearcutting.

Pollinator is a housemate: Aeginetia indica, a parasite on Miscanthus sinensis, is pollinated by Ceratina bees nesting in its host

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, EarlyView.
Aeginetia indica is a parasitic plant on Miscanthus sinensis. Through interval photography and direct observation, we identified Ceratina flavipes as its sole pollinator, which nests inside the stem of M. sinensis. This pollination system, which involves a mutual relationship between a parasitic plant and an insect inhabiting the same host plant, has ...
