The Influence of Tidal Heating on the Habitability of Planets Orbiting White Dwarfs
In recent years, there have been a growing number of observations indicating the presence of rocky material in short-period orbits around white dwarfs. In this Letter, we revisit the prospects for habitability around these post-main-sequence star systems.

The unbiased frequency of planetary signatures around single and binary white dwarfs using Spitzer and Hubble [PDF]
This paper presents combined Spitzer IRAC and Hubble COS results for a double-blind survey of 195 single and 22 wide binary white dwarfs for infrared excesses and atmospheric metals. The selection criteria include cooling ages in the range 9 to 300 Myr,

The obtained results are useful for designing conservation strategies for the germplasm as well as implementing breeding programs such as introducing cultivars with different goals such as early or late ripening and seedless, non‐astringent, large, and deeper color‐fruits.

Excess infrared flux from white dwarf stars is likely to arise from a dusty debris disk or a cool companion. In this work, we present near-infrared spectroscopic observations with Keck/MOSFIRE, Gemini/GNIRS, and Gemini/Flamingos-2 of seven white dwarfs ...

Cool DZ white dwarfs II: compositions and evolution of old remnant planetary systems [PDF]
In a previous study, we analysed the spectra of 230 cool (Teff 1.9 dex, and Fe to Ni ratios similar to the bulk Earth, have accreted by far the most core-like exoplanetesimals discovered to date. With cooling ages in the range 1-8 Gyr, these white dwarfs

The evolution of ultra-massive white dwarfs [PDF]
Ultra-massive white dwarfs are powerful tools used to study various physical processes in the asymptotic giant branch (AGB), type Ia supernova explosions, and the theory of crystallization through white dwarf asteroseismology.

ON THE EVOLUTION OF MAGNETIC WHITE DWARFS [PDF]
We present the first radiation magnetohydrodynamics simulations of the atmosphere of white dwarf stars. We demonstrate that convective energy transfer is seriously impeded by magnetic fields when the plasma-beta parameter, the thermal to magnetic pressure ratio, becomes smaller than unity.

A White Dwarf Search Model Based on a Deep Transfer-learning Method
White dwarfs represent the ultimate stage of evolution for over 97% of stars and play a crucial role in studies of the Milky Way’s structure and evolution.

White dwarfs as dark matter detectors [PDF]
Dark matter that is capable of sufficiently heating a local region in a white dwarf will trigger runaway fusion and ignite a type Ia supernova. This was originally proposed in Graham et al.
