Coronal Tooth Discoloration and White Mineral Trioxide Aggregate

Journal of Endodontics, 2013
This study assessed and characterized discoloration when white MTA (wMTA) was placed in the coronal aspect of the root canal ex vivo and the influence of red blood cells on this discoloration.Canals were prepared from the apical aspect and restored with either wMTA + saline (n = 18), wMTA + blood (n = 18), or controls (n = 4 + 4) (blood or saline alone)

Setting Expansion of Gray and White Mineral Trioxide Aggregate and Portland Cement

Journal of Endodontics, 2008
One possible reason for the sealing ability of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is its slight expansion upon setting. Both gray mineral trioxide aggregate (GMTA) and white mineral trioxide aggregate (WMTA) are composed of approximately 75% Portland cement (PC). WMTA differs from GMTA in its lower content of tetracalcium aluminoferrite.

The nociceptive and anti‐nociceptive effects of white mineral trioxide aggregate

International Endodontic Journal, 2009
AbstractAim  To assess the nociceptive and antinociceptive effects of white mineral trioxide aggregate (WMTA) using the orofacial formalin test in rats.Methodology  Rats (n = 10 in each group) were separately injected into the ipsilateral upper lip with either 40 μL of a 2.5% formalin solution and eugenol (50 mg kg−1) or WMTA (5, 10 and 20 mg dissolved

Treatment of Tooth Discoloration after the Use of White Mineral Trioxide Aggregate

Journal of Endodontics, 2011
A number of vital pulp therapy techniques have been recommended to preserve pulp vitality in teeth with complicated crown fractures, especially in young patients. Calcium hydroxide has been the gold standard as a pulp capping material, but recently mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) has been recommended.

The shear bond strength of resin-based composite to white mineral trioxide aggregate

Journal of the American Dental Association, 2012
It is unknown if resin-based composite can be placed on top of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) immediately after placement of the MTA. The authors aimed to measure the bond strength of a resin-based composite to white MTA (WMTA) with different bonding strategies at different intervals. The authors bonded resin-based composite to MTA with three bonding ...
