The faunistics and systematics of whitefly within Croatia has, until recently, been poorly researched. Data provided by Zahradnik in 1963 listed thirteen species from former Yugoslavia and identified only two species (Aleurolobus olivinus and Trialeurodes lauri) in Croatia.
