Whitney polygons, symbol homology and cobordism maps

open access: yes, 2011
We define a new homology theory we call symbol homology by using decorated moduli spaces of Whitney polygons. By decorating different types of moduli spaces we obtain different flavors of this homology theory together with morphisms between them. Each of these flavors encodes the properties of a different type of Heegaard Floer homology.

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

Comparison of Oral Pregabalin and Clonidine Premedication in Attenuating Pressor Response to Laryngoscopy and Intubation: A Prospective Interventional Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Introduction: Laryngoscopy and intubation during the induction of general anaesthesia can lead to sympathetic system-mediated haemodynamic pressor response, which, if exaggerated, may lead to hazardous complications like myocardial ischaemia, arrhythmias,

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...

A revised and extended version of McShane-Whitney extensions for fuzzy Lipschitz maps

open access: yesFuzzy Sets and Systems
In the paper [E. Jiménez-Fernández, J. Rodr\'ıguez-López, E. A. Sánchez-Pérez, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 406 (2021),66-81], a McShane-Whitney extension theorem is presented for real-valued fuzzy Lipschitz maps between fuzzy metric spaces. Specifically, the codomain space is considered as a so-called Euclidean fuzzy metric space $(\mathbb{R},M_{ϕ,g},\ast).$

White Matter Hyperintensity Burden and Short‐Interval Change Associated With Sleep Apnoea in the UK Biobank

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We

COMPARISON OF EFFECTIVENESS OF A PROGRESSIVE MOBILIZATION AND MOZART MUSIC THERAPY ON NON-INVASIVE HEMODYNAMIC STATUS CHANGES IN PATIENTS WITH HEAD INJURY IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

open access: yesBelitung Nursing Journal, 2018
Background: The instability of hemodynamic status in patients with head injury with decreased consciousness has an effect on the increase of intracranial pressure.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Inflammatory parameters in the prediction of sepsis-induced acute kidney injury: a case-control study

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases
Background Although hypovolemia was long considered the main cause of sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (SI-AKI), current theories explore multifactorial causes of injury (inflammation, immune response, ischaemia-reperfusion system and hypovolemia). The

Differentiation between high-grade gliomas and solitary brain metastases based on multidiffusion MRI model quantitative analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Background and purposeDifferentiating high-grade gliomas (HGGs) from solitary brain metastases (SBMs) using conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) remains challenging due to their similar imaging features.
