Uncovering the impact of the cardiovascular system on cerebrovascular health using MRI

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Human cerebrovasculature is finely tuned to enable local changes in blood flow to meet the brain's demands, whilst protecting the brain from systemic changes in blood pressure, both acutely during a heartbeat and chronically over time. This review summarises cerebrovascular structure and function, their role in disease and neurodegeneration ...

Determining properties of human‐induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived cardiomyocytes using spatially resolved electromechanical metrics

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In this study, we use human‐induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived cardiomyocyte (hiPSC‐CM) experiments and computational modelling to identify the mechanism of action of drug compounds. In the hiPSC‐CM experiments, optical measurements of cell collections are recorded in the baseline case and after drug exposure.

Critical Discursive Psychology and the Society of the Spectacle: A Debordian Approach to Digital Technologies

open access: yesJournal of Community &Applied Social Psychology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a critical framework that merges Critical Discursive Psychology (CDP) with Guy Debord's Society of the Spectacle to explicate the discourses surrounding digital technologies. MRI of Neurogenic Human Motor Units Following Poliomyelitis

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 3, Page 403-411, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Surviving motor units in neurogenic diseases demonstrate collateral reinnervation. Scanning electromyography (EMG) reveals normal motor unit corridor length, but with “silent regions,” suggesting that reinnervation does not result in increased motor unit size but may increase motor unit complexity.
