Microorganisms perform essential functions in Arctic terrestrial ecosystems. Yet, their ecology and biogeography are poorly understood, despite being necessary to predict microbial responses to future climate change. Here, we provide the first large‐scale floristic and biogeographic study of the moss diatom flora in the tundra regions of the North ...

A path model for Whittaker vectors [PDF]
40 pages, 2 figuresIn this paper we construct weighted path models to compute Whittaker vectors in the completion of Verma modules, as well as Whittaker functions of fundamental type, for all finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras, affine Lie algebras ...

Remarks on the Whittaker functions
Whittaker functions are expressed in terms of derivatives of incomplete Gamma functions. Some equalities are then derived with other well-known special functions. Further, some infinite series of the Whittaker functions are expressed in terms of the elementary functions, incomplete Gamma functions, error functions and other special functions.

Abstract Background Parent‐led, preschool language interventions may help to mitigate the risk of poor language and literacy outcomes associated with lower socioeconomic status. This study builds on two previous evaluations of a parent‐led early language teaching programme, which demonstrated mixed findings.

Sampling and reconstruction of functions is a central tool in science. A key result is given by the sampling theorem for bandlimited functions attributed to Whittaker, Shannon, Nyquist, and Kotelnikov.

Relativistic wave and Green's functions for hydrogen--like ions
The \textsc{Greens} library is presented which provides a set of C++ procedures for the computation of the (radial) Coulomb wave and Green's functions. Both, the nonrelativistic as well as relativistic representations of these functions are supported by ...

Integral operators involving Whittaker functions [PDF]
We define the integral operators and asandwhereand Wk, u and Mk, u are the Whittaker's confluent hyper-geometric functions. These operators, in their slightly less general form, have been dealt with in [2] and [4]. There the authors have used the fact that these integral operators can be expressed as compositions of the Kober's fractional integral ...

Abstract The sedimentary succession at Whittlesey preserves a unique British late Middle Pleistocene to Holocene record back to a time equivalent to at least marine oxygen isotope stage 8 (ca. 250 ka). This study builds on previously published sedimentology, geochronology and palaeoecology results to establish 20 sedimentary facies associations, with ...

This study reports for the first time a checklist of native vascular plants and provides a comprehensive analysis of the flora of the Redberry Lake Biosphere Region (RLBR) in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. To complete an inventory of the regional flora, I conducted intensive field investigations during 2010–2025 and employed detailed examination
