Acute Effects of Whole-Body Electrostimulation Combined with Stretching on Lower Back Pain
International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2023AbstractData from recent studies suggest that whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) is a time-effective and tailored intervention for chronic lower back pain (CLBP). The aim of this non-randomized controlled study was to compare the efficacy of a WB-EMS training and the association between

Influence of Whole-Body Electrostimulation on Human Red Blood Cell Deformability
Red blood cell-nitric oxide synthase (RBC-NOS)-dependent NO production is essential for the maintenance of RBC deformability, which is known to improve oxygen supply to the working tissue. Electrostimulation of the whole body (WB-EMS) has been shown to improve maximal strength, springiness, and jumping power of trained and untrained athletes.

We evaluated the effect of whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) during dynamic exercises over 14 weeks on anthropometric, physiological, and muscular parameters in postmenopausal women. Thirty women (64.5 +/- 5.5 years) with experience in physical training (>3 years) were randomly assigned either to a control group (CON, n = 15) that maintained ...

Ultrahigh‐Field Multimodal MRI Assessment of Muscle Damage
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2018Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful tool to assess skeletal muscle damage both in injured athletes and patients with neuromuscular diseases. Alterations in muscle have been assessed with T2-weighted, 1 diffusion tensor, and sodium MRI. However,

AMO: Adaptive Motion Optimization for Hyper-Dexterous Humanoid Whole-Body Control
RoboticsHumanoid robots derive much of their dexterity from hyper-dexterous whole-body movements, enabling tasks that require a large operational workspace: such as picking objects off the ground.
