Characterization of LCDs Using Partition Scaling and Unique Hue Methods
Partition scaling, a key method in the proposed visually based characterization model, produced experimental results that can be well described by the relationship between the normalized lightness step (LS) and luminance (Y). ABSTRACT This study investigates the feasibility of using psychophysical methods to establish a colorimetric characterization ...

The Development of a Skin Chart Based on Real Measured Data
Real measured skin spectra → Uniform CIELAB cube sampling → Representative skin chart with optional reflectance reconstruction. ABSTRACT In this paper, a methodology is proposed for uniformly selecting a specified number (N$$ N $$) of colors for a skin chart from the color solid in CIELAB space under D65/2° viewing condition, based on the ISSA database.

Flexible Chromatic VIS‐IR Meta‐Textile for Multi‐Scenario Stealth
A flexible chromatic meta‐textile was developed for multi‐spectral stealth across VIS‐IR bands, combining low color difference, ultralow infrared emissivity, and passive radiative cooling. The textile exhibits excellent VIS wide‐angle compatibility, optical durability, and mechanical flexibility, offering a promising solution for advanced stealth ...

New Approach to Dominant and Prominent Color Extraction in Images with a Wide Range of Hues
Dominant colors significantly influence visual image perception and are widely used in computer vision and design. Traditional extraction methods often neglect visually salient colors that occupy small areas yet possess high aesthetic relevance.

This study demonstrates uniform, durable non‐iridescent structural coloration using polystyrene nanoparticles randomly embedded in a thick sodium silicate with absorptive additives. By suppressing the effects of the structure factor and multiple scattering, this approach achieves uniform coloration from the backscattering.

Estimation of Observer Metameric Failure when Using Modern Displays
Introduction. The advent of wide-gamut color reproduction devices (LED, laser, or OLED) has exacerbated the problem of color rendering related to individual differences in color perception and referred to as observer metameric failure.

Sociology and The Complexity of What Is Missing
ABSTRACT What is ‘missed’ by sociological literature underpinned by assumptions of presence that a missing approach can rectify? I appropriate a metaphysics of presence and an alternative focus on what is missing as ontological foci to revisit complexity studies in sociology.

ABSTRACT Despite recent progress in CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) for color converters, the luminance of pure red LEDs with the Rec. 2020 standard Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) 1931 color coordinates of (0.708, 0.292) has yet to meet the requirement for outdoor display.
