Channel Estimation for Hybrid Architecture-Based Wideband Millimeter Wave Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2016
Hybrid analog and digital precoding allows millimeter wave (mmWave) systems to achieve both array and multiplexing gain. The design of the hybrid precoders and combiners, though, is usually based on the knowledge of the channel.

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Tensor-Based Channel Estimation for Millimeter Wave MIMO-OFDM With Dual-Wideband Effects

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2020
We consider the channel estimation problem in millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems with hybrid analog-digital architectures. Leveraging the spatial- and frequency-wideband (

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Wideband Waveform Design for Robust Target Detection

open access: yes, 2014
Future radar systems are expected to use waveforms of a high bandwidth, where the main advantage is an improved range resolution. In this paper, a technique to design robust wideband waveforms for a Multiple-Input-Single-Output system is developed.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.

Photocatalytic Versus Stoichiometric Hydrogen Generation Using Mesoporous Silicon Catalysts: The Complex Role of Sacrificial Reagents

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of accounting for stoichiometric hydrogen produced when utilizing Si photocatalysts. The stoichiometric contribution is sacrificial reagent dependent and decreases with increasing sterics around the catalyst surface.
