Time-of-Flight Ranging for WSN Locationing (Project Information Sheet)

open access: yes
To develop a narrow-band RF-based Time-of-Flight (ToF) ranging method with sub-meter ranging resolution which can be adopted in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for the purpose of localising sensor nodes.

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Statistical Analysis of Impulse Radio Ultra-Wideband Multi User Interference based on Measurements

open access: yes
Multiuser interference (MUI) statistical models for impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) systems can be an important in providing an accurate estimate of the channel state. As such, it can have a major impact on the overall system performance.

An On‐Demand Neuromorphic Vision System Enabled by a Multi‐Paradigm Neuromorphic Device and Hierarchical Reconfigurability Designed from Device to System Level

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An on‐demand ultra‐reconfigurable intelligent vision system with hierarchical reconfigurability from device to system levels is demonstrated. Through co‐design of a multi‐paradigm device, reconfigurable circuits, and adaptive system architecture/algorithms, the system enables seamless switching among spiking, non‐spiking, neuromorphic imaging (NI), and

Differential Code-Shifted Reference Impulse-Radio Ultra-Wideband Receiver: Timing Recovery and Digital Implementation

open access: yes, 2012
Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a wireless system which transmits signals across a much wider frequency spectrum than traditional wireless systems. The impulse radio (IR) UWB technique uses ultra-short duration pulses of nanoseconds or less.

Carboranyl‐Curcuminoids for the Neutron Capture‐Based Treatment of Amyloid Aggregates in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 10B‐enriched monocarbonyl analog of curcumin (BMAC) 10B‐9 enables site‐specific Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) on amyloid‐β (Aβ) fibrils. Neutron irradiation induces histidine oxidation and fibril destabilization, as revealed by 1H‐NMR and FESEM analyses.
