Ultra-wideband radio signals distribution in FTTH networks [PDF]
The use of an ultra-wideband (UWB) radio technique is proposed as a viable solution for the distribution of high-definition audio/video content in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.

Wideband Gyro-Amplifiers [PDF]
Gyro-amplifiers using helically corrugated waveguides have shown exceptional gain, power, bandwidth, and efficiency performance at cm and mm wavelengths. The performance of a long pulse (and therefore high vacuum) system is strongly influenced by factors other than the intrinsic bandwidth of the interaction. We shall discuss these and other challenges,

Summary: The application of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to low-cost short-range communications presents unique challenges to the communications engineer. The impact of the US FCC's regulations and the characteristics of the low-power UWB propagation channels are explored, and their effects on UWB hardware design are illustrated.

Wideband blade monopole antenna with sleeved coaxial feed [PDF]
A wideband planar monopole antenna requiring a small ground plane is described. Numerical and measured results confirms the antenna has good radiation efficiency and stable omni-directional radiation patterns over an impedance bandwidth of 4.1:1 covering

CPW Fed UWB Antenna by EBGs With Wide Rectangular Notched-Band
Ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas with wide rectangular notched-band are proposed in this paper. The rectangular notched-band design is realized by placing dual mushroom-type electromagnetic-bandgap (EBG) structures on the CPW feeding line.

An Electrically Tunable Terahertz Filter Based on Liquid-Crystal-Filled Slits with Wall Corrugations
We propose a type of hollow planar waveguide with corrugated walls, which can realize electrically tunable terahertz (THz) filtering by filling the slit with liquid crystals. When the THz signals propagate in a planar waveguide with periodic corrugations,

Terahertz electromagnetic (EM) wave components usually have a single function, such as they can only convert the polarization state of an incident wave or absorb the incident energy, which would be a limitation for their applications.

In this paper, a wideband four port 2–6 GHz antenna is proposed. One-, two-, and four-port antennas are implemented and characterized between 2 and 6 GHz. The isolation between the ports is improved by connecting and optimizing the ground plane sections.
