On the Low-SNR Capacity of Phase-Shift Keying with Hard-Decision Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The low-snr capacity of M-ary PSK transmission over both the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading channels is analyzed when hard-decision detection is employed at the receiver.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Nanoscale Mapping of Plasmonic Charge Transport in Nano‐Resonators Based on Resistive Switching Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

A Low-Profile and Wideband Unidirectional Antenna Using Bandwidth Enhanced Resonance-Based Reflector for Fifth Generation (5G) Systems Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The previously proposed resonance-based reflector (RBR) antennas have the merits of wide impedance bandwidth, low-profile, and unidirectional pattern; however, their front-to-back ratio (FBR) bandwidths are narrow.

Localization of water surface waves in a heterostructure channel with corrugated sidewalls

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
This paper describes the fabrication of a water channel heterostructure by combining two types of periodic sidewalls with different duty ratios. This enables the manipulation and localization of water surface waves in bands that are traditionally ...

Circular‐Polarization‐Sensitive Organic Photodetectors with a Chiral Nanopatterned Electrode Inverse‐Designed by Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...
