Fractal based ultra-wideband antenna development for wireless personal area communication applications

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2018
This paper presents a bandwidth enhanced, compact planar ultra-wideband antenna design for wireless personal area communication (WPAN) applications. The proposed antenna has fractal based geometry and is constructed using several iterations of a pentagon

Active Wideband Antenna With Circular Polarization

27th European Microwave Conference and Exhibition, 1997
The paper presents analysis, design and realization of the novel active wideband circular polarization antenna integrated with FM transmitter of about 20 dBm radiated power operating in the frequency range from 4.6 GHz to 5.8 GHz, which is realized on dielectric substrate placed perpendicularly to the antenna plate. Axial ratio (AR)

Helical antenna performance in wideband communications

2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks, 2008
In this paper, we employed the electromagnetic theory to the design of a 2.4-GHz wideband helix antenna. The designed antenna was first simulated across wide bandwidth using 4NEC2 software, and then two identical antennas were made from available materials and finally measured using a vector network analyzer.

Ultra Wideband Antennas

2012
Chipless RFID tags require a significant amount of spectrum in order to encode their data. Hence, ultra wideband antennas seem like the obvious solution as the antenna of choice for the chipless RFID tag. The theory of operation and parametric study of circular disc monopole antennas printed on dielectric laminates is presented.

Novel antennas for ultra‐wideband communications

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2004
AbstractTwo novel antennas for UWB communications, both inspired from bowtie and triangular patch structures, are presented and tested. This paper proposes their study and optimization in order to cover the new WPAN standard and facilitate their integration on communication devices.

Development of Wideband Antennas

2018
Wideband antennas for VLBI have been under development in NICT Kashima and the status of the project was reported in the poster session. An aim of this wideband observing system is Time and Frequency Transfer, the comparison of atomic clocks separated by long distances of several hundred or thousand kilometers with VLBI, as reported in “Broadband VLBI ...

A wideband conformal flexible monopole antenna

2017 International Conference on Wireless Technologies, Embedded and Intelligent Systems (WITS), 2017
This paper presents the development and design of conformal flexible monopoles antennas. It can be used on different curved surfaces while maintaining all its parameters, The advantage of this monopole disc antenna consist on his capacity to remain matched for all radius of curvature.

Characterization of a wideband adaptive-MIMO antenna

2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007
This paper explores the potential performance of the AdaM antenna in a set of realistic environments and over wideband operation based on experimental measurements of a prototype antenna. The results demonstrate that, when compared to a system using a traditional receive array, a 2times2 MIMO system using an AdaM receive antenna can achieve the same ...

Recent topics in Ultra-Wideband Antennas

2012 IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband, 2012
We study here three topics in Ultra-Wideband Antennas. First, we consider a standard for characterizing antenna performance in the time domain, We develop a single time domain function, called antenna impulse response, which fully describes antenna performance with equations that are as simple as possible in both the frequency and time domains.

Design of a directive ultra-wideband antenna

2nd European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2007), 2007
This work presents a novel directive Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna. The antenna shows an average gain of 7 dB over the band of interest (i.e., 4-10 GHz) with a return loss better than -10 dB. A broadband balun is also included in the realization. The antenna transfer function has been measured and the effect on pulse transmission has been evaluated ...
