Compressive autonomous sensing (CASe) for wideband spectrum sensing

open access: yes2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
Compressive spectrum sensing techniques present many advantages over traditional spectrum sensing approaches, e.g., low sampling rate, and reduced energy consumption. However, when the spectral sparsity level is unknown, there are two significant challenges.

Evaluation of the Wideband Compressive Radio Receiver for spectrum sensing

open access: yesIEEE Africon '11, 2011
We present an empirical evaluation of the carrier detection method used in the Wideband Compressive Radio Receiver (WCRR), which is of particular interest for spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio (CR) and Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA). We study the effect of different combinations of the decimation factor L, and window lengths, N.

Method and apparatus for wideband spectrum sensing

open access: yes, 2018
Examples of wideband spectrum sensing techniques for cognitive radio are provided. The techniques permit undersampling (e.g., sub-Nyquist sampling) the spectrum band, which permits use of more cost effective electronic components (e.g., lower frequency analog-to-digital converters (ADC)). The techniques permit determination of whether there are any (or

LPWS Algorithm for Wideband Spectrum Sensing

Wireless Personal Communications, 2016
Wideband or multi-band spectrum sensing is an essential functionality for cognitive radio (CR) networks. It enables a secondary user to identify spectral holes dynamically and transmit opportunistically so as not to interfere with cohabiting primary users over the same bands.

A new approach for spectrum sensing in wideband

Eurocon 2013, 2013
A new algorithm of the spectrum sensing is proposed in this paper. The spectrum sensing methods presented in this paper are optimised to implement these in FPGA based embedded systems. The low power and highly parallelised architecture of FPGA requires low complexity in implementation of separate processing units - spectrum sensors (SpS).

Wideband spectrum sensing by compressed measurements

2012 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2012
In this paper we introduce a new method for wideband spectrum sensing which uses the received signal compressed measurements to determine the occupancy status of each subchannel. In the cognitive radio systems, wideband spectrum sensing in high utilization regimes increases the speed of the access to the spectrum holes.

Sensing order optimization in wideband spectrum sensing

2016 IEEE Advanced Information Management, Communicates, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IMCEC), 2016
In the cognitive radio networks (CRNs), efficient spectrum sensing is a key enabling techniques for the effective spectrum exploration. However, Majority of the existing works on spectrum sensing is conducted the spectrum sensing serially in cognitive radio networks, which may bring about the sensing delay problem.

Cooperative compressive wideband power spectrum sensing

2012 Conference Record of the Forty Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2012
Compressive sampling is a popular approach to relax the rate requirement on the analog-to-digital converters and to perfectly reconstruct wideband sparse signals sampled below the Nyquist rate. However, there are some applications, such as spectrum sensing for cognitive radio, that demand only power spectrum recovery. For wide-sense stationary signals,
