Surface Magnetization Reversal of Wiegand Wire Measured by the Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2021
The Wiegand wire is known to exhibit a unique feature of fast magnetization reversal in the magnetically soft region accompanied by a large Barkhausen jump. We clarified a significant difference between the magnetization reversals at the surface and at the entire cross section of a Wiegand wire.

Magnetic Reference Mark in a Linear Positioning System Generated by a Single Wiegand Pulse

open access: yesSensors, 2022
A Wiegand sensor is composed of a strip of Wiegand wire and a pick-up coil. The research presented in this paper examines and characterizes the fast magnetization reversal in a Wiegand wire, which leads to changes in magnetic flux density in its pick-up ...

A nematic liquid crystal elastomer rotary engine [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Nematic liquid crystal elastomers (NLCEs) could perform as soft actuators because they generate greater contraction stress than ordinary rubber in response to a temperature rise of several tens of Kelvin. In this study, we follow the Wiegand rubber motor

Investigating the E2 Nuclear Resonance Effects in Kaonic Atoms: The KAMEO Proposal [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
The E2 nuclear resonance effect in kaonic atoms occurs when the energy of atomic de-excitation closely matches the energy of nuclear excitation, leading to the attenuation of some X-ray lines in the resonant isotope target.
