Five-year clinical study of a novel porcine xenograft for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: Positive safety and performance outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Exp Orthop
Porcine digital extensor tendon (p‐DET) xenograft was used for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in 40 patients with follow‐up to 5 years. There was significant improvement in a variety of outcome measures after 3‐6 months which were maintained to 5 years. Six (15%) retears occurred in young males.

Detection of Porcine-Human Reassortant and Zoonotic Group A Rotaviruses in Humans in Poland. [PDF]

open access: yesTransbound Emerg Dis
Group A rotaviruses (RVAs) are widespread in humans and many animal species and represent the most epidemiologically important rotavirus group. Characteristic Features of Gravitational Wave Lensing as Probe of Lens Mass Model

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 535, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
The gravitational lensing of gravitational waves is an expanding field in astronomy and cosmology. It might contribute to solving many different issue in these fields. To exploit its potential, first of all, one needs to recognize and model a gravitational wave event properly.

A confirmed association between DNA variants in CAPN9, OSM, and ITGAM candidate genes and the risk of umbilical hernia in pigs

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 54, Issue 3, Page 307-314, June 2023., 2023
Abstract Umbilical hernia (UH) is one of the most prevalent defects of swine, affecting their welfare and causing considerable economic loss. The molecular mechanisms behind UH in pigs remain poorly understood. The aim of this study was to verify the association between UH and previously reported DNA variants in the CAPN9, OSM, ITGAM, and NUGGC genes ...

Amniotic band syndrome and limb body wall complex in Europe 1980–2019

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 191, Issue 4, Page 995-1006, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Amniotic band syndrome (ABS) and limb body wall complex (LBWC) have an overlapping phenotype of multiple congenital anomalies and their etiology is unknown. We aimed to determine the prevalence of ABS and LBWC in Europe from 1980 to 2019 and to describe the spectrum of congenital anomalies.

Asymptotically isometric copies of c_{0} in Musielak-Orlicz spaces [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2014
Criteria in order that a Musielak-Orlicz function space \(L^\Phi\) as well as Musielak-Orlicz sequence space \(l^\Phi\) contains an asymptotically isometric copy of \(c_0\) are given. These results extend some results of [Y.A. Cui, H. Hudzik, G. Lewicki,
