Asymptotics of block Toeplitz determinants with piecewise continuous symbols

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 78, Issue 1, Page 120-160, January 2025.
Abstract We determine the asymptotics of the block Toeplitz determinants detTn(ϕ)$\det T_n(\phi)$ as n→∞$n\rightarrow \infty$ for N×N$N\times N$ matrix‐valued piecewise continuous functions ϕ$\phi$ with a finitely many jumps under mild additional conditions.

KPZ equation, its renormalization and invariant measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation is a stochastic partial differential equation which is ill-posed because the nonlinearity is marginally defined with respect to the roughness of the forcing noise.

Meromorphic Levy processes and their fluctuation identities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The last couple of years has seen a remarkable number of new, explicit examples of the Wiener-Hopf factorization for Levy processes where previously there had been very few.

Diffraction by a finite parallel‐plate waveguide cavity with perfect electric conductor loading: The case of E polarisation

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The diffraction by a finite parallel‐plate waveguide cavity with perfect electric conductor loading is rigorously analysed for the E‐polarised case using the Wiener–Hopf technique. Numerical computations of the radar cross‐section have been performed for different physical parameters, providing a detailed analysis of the scattering characteristics ...

Plane Wave Diffraction by a Finite Parallel‐Plate Waveguide Cavity With Perfect Electric Conductor Loading: The Case of H Polarization

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper investigates H‐polarised wave diffraction by a finite parallel‐plate waveguide cavity using the Wiener–Hopf technique, and numerical results are presented to illustrate the scattering characteristics under various conditions. ABSTRACT This work presents a rigorous analysis of H‐polarised wave diffraction by a finite parallel‐plate waveguide ...

On the solution of the convolution equation with a sum-difference kernel

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2015
The paper deals with the integral equations of the second kind with a sumdifference kernel. These equations describe a series of physical processes in a medium with a reflective boundary.

Clutter rank estimation for the multistage Wiener filter

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The authors propose an algorithm that determines the rank of the sea clutter and relates it to the number of stages in the multistage Wiener filter. The algorithm presented is formulated as a model order estimation problem that utilises the minimum description length (MDL).

Dual integral equations with Fox's H-function kernel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1984
The dual integral equations involving Bessel function kernels were first considered by Weber in 1873. The problem comprised of finding potential of an electrified disc which belongs to a general category of mixed boundary value problems.

A Perturbed Iterative Method for a General Class of Variational Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The generalized Wiener-Hopf equation and the approximation methods are used to propose a perturbed iterative method to compute the solutions of a general class of nonlinear variational ...

Singular Integral Equations of Convolution Type With Carleman Shift

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This article discusses a few different types of singular integral equations of the convolution type with Carleman shift in class {0}. By using the theory of Fourier analysis, these equations under consideration are transformed into Riemann–Hilbert boundary value problems for analytic functions with shift and discontinuous coefficients.
