Radiation of Sound from a Coaxial Duct Formed by a Semi-Infinite Rigid Outer Cylinder and Infinite Inner Cylinder Having Different Linings

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2020
In the present work, the radiation of sound waves from a coaxial duct is considered. This coaxial duct has an inner wall which is infinite and has piecewise acoustically absorbent material, while the outer wall is semi-infinite and rigid.

Interplay of Wiener--Hopf and Hankel operators with almost periodic Fourier symbols on standard and variable exponent Lebesgue spaces

open access: yes, 2015
. Wiener-Hopf plus Hankel and Wiener-Hopf minus Hankel operators in both frameworks of standard and variable exponent Lebesgue spaces are considered in this paper.

Wiener-Hopf Analysis of the h-Polarized Plane Wave Diffraction by a Finite Sinusoidal Grating (Invited Paper)

open access: yes, 2014
The diffraction by a finite sinusoidal grating is analyzed for the H-polarized plane wave incidence using the Wiener-Hopf technique combined with the perturbation method.

Solvability of an Integral Equation of Volterra-Wiener-Hopf Type

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
The paper presents results concerning the solvability of a nonlinear integral equation of Volterra-Stieltjes type. We show that under some assumptions that equation has a continuous and bounded solution defined on the interval 0,∞ and having a finite ...

Dual integral equations with Fox's H-function kernel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1984
The dual integral equations involving Bessel function kernels were first considered by Weber in 1873. The problem comprised of finding potential of an electrified disc which belongs to a general category of mixed boundary value problems.

Calculation of Probability of the Exit of a Stochastic Process from a Band by Monte-Carlo Method: A Wiener-Hopf Factorization

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
This paper considers a method of the calculation of probability of the exit from a band of the solution of a stochastic differential equation. The method is based on the approximation of the solution of the considered equation by a process which is ...

Two coupled Lévy queues with independent input

open access: yesStochastic Systems, 2014
We consider a pair of coupled queues driven by independent spectrally-positive Lévy processes. With respect to the bi-variate workload process this framework includes both the coupled processor model and the two-server fluid network with independent ...
