Wigner-Ville distribution and windowed Wigner-Ville distribution of noisy signals
Proceedings of IEEE Singapore International Conference on Networks/International Conference on Information Engineering '93, 2002Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) is a major method for analyzing non-stationary signal. In practical application of WVD, a windowed version is necessary. When signals are distorted by additive noise, it is important to estimate the accuracy of the estimator in terms of bias and variance.

A popular method to include quantum effects into the calculation of the characteristics of submicron devices is based on the Wigner functions. The underlying idea is that quantum transport can be catched into generalized transport equations that are in the spirit of the Boltzmann transport equation, suitable extended with terms that represent quantum ...

ICASSP '83. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
The Wigner distribution (WD) has recently received much attention from researchers interested in dual time/frequency or space/spatial-frequency signal representation. However, an adequate computable approximation to the WD has been lacking. In order to fill this void, we introduce in this paper a new and highly versatile approximation known as the ...

Wigner distributions for qudits
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006Two new approaches to the problem of setting up Wigner distributions for finite level quantum systems are proposed. Both arise by looking at the structure of the familiar Wigner distribution for Cartesian quantum mechanics from different perspectives.

Recursion In Wigner Distribution
SPIE Proceedings, 1988The problem of finding a recursive structure to evaluate the Wigner distribution (WD) is investigated. Recursive formula for updating the smoothed Wigner distribution are derived for on-line data processing of non-stationary processes. Recursion is established by first defining a sliding data window and then selecting the time-lag window to satisfy ...
