The wild bees (Hymenoptera: Apoidea) of Morocco
Zootaxa, 2020Morocco is a well known hot-spot of biodiversity in the Mediterranean basin. While some taxa like vascular plants are relatively well recorded, important groups of pollinators like bees are still understudied. This article presents an updated checklist of the bee species of Morocco and includes a summary of global and regional distribution of each ...

Wild bees for agriculture and agriculture for wild bees
2015Biodiversity in the landscape offers myriad benefits that are collectively known as ecosystem services. Provision of ecosystem services that benefit agriculture, such as pollination, is affected by landscape complexity surrounding farms. In this study, I examine three questions about pollination in a focal crop, highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum)

Molecular Identification of Wild Bees
For over 20 years, DNA barcoding has participated in characterizing the molecular diversity of wild bees worldwide and rapidly advancing our taxonomic knowledge of this group of pollinators. This chapter first presents the background of the emergence of DNA barcoding for the study of wild bees and its large contributions to bee taxonomy through ...Ollivier, Mélodie +2 more

The conservation and restoration of wild bees
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2010Bees pollinate most of the world's wild plant species and provide economically valuable pollination services to crops; yet knowledge of bee conservation biology lags far behind other taxa such as vertebrates and plants. There are few long‐term data on bee populations, which makes their conservation status difficult to assess.

Wild Bees and Crop Pollination
2011Bees represent a great diversity. According to Michener (The bees of the world. The John Hopkins University Press, Baltimore/London, 913 pp, 2000) more than 16,325 species of bees have been recognized, belonging to 425 genera, reorganized under 7 families. Though much has been known still much more needs to be investigated.

Wild bees of Brunei Darussalam
1996The wild bee fauna of Borneo and Brunei is singularly depauperate compared with other tropical areas but very rich in the two bee groups at the zenith of social insects. In the forests of Belalong I found 4 Apis and 22 stingless bee species; the latter, mostly Trigona, included 76% of all stingless bee species known from Borneo, and all three endemics.
