Fixed point theorem utilizing operators and functionals

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
This paper presents a fixed point theorem utilizing operators and functionals in the spirit of the original Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem which is void of any invariance-like conditions.

Accurate determination of mode I and II leading coefficients of the Williams expansion by finite element analysis [PDF]

open access: yesFinite Elements in Analysis and Design, 2005
Leading coefficients of the Williams expansion are evaluated by using the fractal finite-element method (FFEM). By means of the self-similarity principle, an infinite number of elements is generated at the vicinity of the crack tip to model the crack tip singularity.

Mass-Conserved Solution to the Ffowcs-Williams and Hawkings Equation for Compact Source Regions

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
A mass-conserved formulation for the Ffowcs-Williams–Hawkings (FW–H) integral is proposed to suppress contributions of spurious mass flux to the far-field sound at very low Mach numbers.

Extracting fracture mechanics parameters (higher-order coefficients of Williams series expansion) from FEM analysis and digital photoelasticity method

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract The paper describes new algorithms and procedures proposed for determining fracture mechanics parameters from finite element analysis using the over deterministic method. The multi-parameter crack tip stress field description is used.

Review of the Influence of non-singular higher order terms on the stress field of thin welded lap joints and small inclined cracks in plates [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2017
In stress analysis of cracked plates, alongside the stress intensity factor which quantifies the singular stress component perpendicular to the crack plane, the role played in crack growth by the constant term parallel to the crack plane, called the T ...

Multiple Positive Solutions for a System of Fractional Order BVP with p-Laplacian Operators and Parameters

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In this paper, we investigate the existence of positive solutions to a system of fractional differential equations that include the (r1,r2,r3)-Laplacian operator, three-point boundary conditions, and various fractional derivatives.

To the scrutiny of the experiential and computational elicitation of factors of the Williams multi-parameter expansion

open access: yesVestnik of Samara University. Natural Science Series, 2023
The article defines stress fields near the tips of mathematical cracks in an isotropic linearly elastic plate with two horizontal collinear cracks lying on a straight line of different lengths under the uniaxial tensile condition, using two approaches - experimental, based on the method of digital photomechanics, and numerical, based on finite element ...

Multiple positive solutions for nonlinear high-order Riemann–Liouville fractional differential equations boundary value problems with p-Laplacian operator

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2020
In this paper, we study the existence of multiple positive solutions for boundary value problems of high-order Riemann–Liouville fractional differential equations involving the p-Laplacian operator.

Associations of Sleep and Shift Work with Osteoarthritis Risk

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Daily rhythms may be critical for maintaining homeostasis of joint tissues. We aimed to investigate the relationships between circadian clock disruption, sleep, and osteoarthritis (OA) risk in humans. Methods In the UK Biobank, a prospective 500,000‐person cohort, we evaluated associations between sleep duration, sleeplessness/insomnia, and ...
