A review on the extreme rainfall studies in India

open access: yesNatural Hazards Research
Climate vulnerability in the Indian region becomes a major concern due to the frequent hydro-meteorological extreme events throughout the year. The number of extreme rainfall events (ERE) associated with monsoon, thunderstorms and short-spanned local ...

Wind tunnel study of the wind turbine interaction with a boundary-layer flow: Upwind region, turbine performance, and wake region

open access: yes, 2017
Comprehensive wind tunnel experiments were carried out to study the interaction of a turbulent boundary layer with a wind turbine operating under different tip-speed ratios and yaw angles.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Evaluation of a GCM in seasonal forecasting of extreme rainfall events over continental India

open access: yesWeather and Climate Extremes, 2018
In recent decades, vulnerability to disasters due to Extreme Rainfall Events (ERE) has increased manifold over continental India during the south west monsoon season.

The control system design and study for continuous supersonic wind tunnel

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2022
As the first continuous supersonic wind tunnel in China, Mach number and total pressure are the most important flow field parameters of the wind tunnel, how to precise control and rapid and stable adjustment of total pressure and Mach number is the key ...

Wind tunnel experiments on wind turbine wakes in yaw: effects of inflow turbulence and shear

open access: yesWind Energy Science, 2018
. The wake characteristics behind a yawed model wind turbine exposed to different customized inflow conditions are investigated. Laser Doppler anemometry is used to measure the wake flow in two planes at x∕D = 3 and x∕D = 6, while the turbine yaw angle ...

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling
