C16 Phase High Entropy Borides With High Magnetic Anisotropy
Rare‐earth‐free C16‐phase high entropy boride thin films exhibit enhanced magnetic anisotropy with coercivities surpassing their binary and ternary counterparts. Combinatorial synthesis of (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Mn)2B films combined with density functional theory enables mapping of the magnetic properties across the composition space, revealing high entropy ...

Asymmetry of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in BaTiO3
Phase transitions are typically assumed to behave identically in forward and reverse. This work shows that in the ferroelectric material barium titanate this is not true: heating drives an abrupt, first‐order jump, while cooling gives a smooth, continuous change.

Wind Tunnel experiments using by model snow
In recent years, tall and long-spanned buildings have been builts at many snowy areas in Japan. So, wind tunnel experiments using model snow are carried out to predict snowdrifts around the buildings and snow load on a building's roof. This paper describes the similarity requirements for the modeling of snowdrifting and research results on wind tunnel ...

Study of open jet wind tunnel cones [PDF]
Tests have been made by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics on the air flow in an open jet wind tunnel with various sizes, shapes, and spacings of cones, and the flow studied by means of velocity and direction surveys in conjunction with flow

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Perspective: OLED Displays Singing with the Blues
While blue pixels consume approximately 50% of the energy of OLED display front planes, in the 25 years since their invention, 100% internal efficiency triplet‐controlled phosphorescent OLEDs have not met the stability standards necessary for their adoption.

Tuning Pore Size in Porous Graphene Membrane for O2/N2 Separation
Single‐layer graphene membranes featuring N‐functionalized, 0D pores offer a promising platform for O2/N2 separation. The heterogeneity of functional groups at the pore edge is dynamically tunable, enabling precise tuning of the pore limiting diameter and gas transport.

Measuring Techniques in the Wind Tunnel Experiments
Some new techniques for the measurement in wind tunnels are presented.Hand-made micro-computer systems are used in most of our experimental works. They are used both as a data processor and an apparatus controller. We introduce how they are used in our experiments for the conditional sampling. As an apparatus controller, they are used in flow ...

Experimental Investigation of Photogrammetric Surface Analysis of Heat Shield Materials during Plasma Wind Tunnel Testing [PDF]
The paper presents first results of an experimental analysis of surface recession using advanced photogrammetric tools. Based on image pairs acquired with two DSLR cameras, classical photogrammetry has been tried, but pixelwise image analysis with ...
